At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, we are involved in two European projects H2020 on cybersecurity, namely the CONCORDIA and CyberSec4Europe, both pilot projects of the Cyber Competence Network. February is the month of safe use of the Internet, and 9 February 2021 was the Safer Internet day, dedicated to the topic “Together for a better internet”. As part of the related events, Marko Hölbl and Lili Nemec Zlatolas were invited to speak on the subject in programs on TV Maribor.
Lili Nemec Zlatolas, a member of the CONCORDIA project, was a guest on Tele M, a regional news program on Thursday, 4 February 2021 at 6 pm, where she spoke about the security of personal and business systems, the security of online shopping and banking, and online privacy.
Marko Hölbl, project manager of CyberSec4Europe at FERI, was a guest of Omizje, a talk show on TV Maribor entitled (Ne)varno na spletu (translated as (Not)safe online), which was broadcast on Wednesday, 10 February 2021 at 8 pm. Two other guests were Gorazd Božič from the National Response Center for Cyber Security SI-CERT and Gregor Grosman, a journalist from Večer. They talked about public awareness and the difference between younger and older Internet users, technological solutions, and the user’s role in ensuring their own online security, the impact of the pandemic on digitalization and online security, and videoconferencing software, dangers associated with free services and social networks.
