On April 21, 2026, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics hosted special guests within the RINKO project – children from the Jožica Flander Kindergarten.
The visit was organized by members of the Institute of Informatics, who, in cooperation with the Faculty of Education and various research laboratories at FERI, prepared a program designed to introduce basic concepts of modern information and technological systems in a way suitable for young children.
After the introductory welcome, the children embarked on guided tours of the laboratories, where researchers presented their work through interactive demonstrations and adapted explanations. The aim of the activities was to present technology in an understandable and engaging way, while encouraging curiosity and early interest in scientific and research thinking.
During the visit, the children were introduced to various research fields, including robotics, electronic and information systems, media technologies, and real-time systems. Through practical demonstrations, they gained their first insight into how modern technological solutions operate in everyday life.
A particularly important aspect of the visit was the direct interaction between researchers and children, as their questions, enthusiasm, and responses created a highly engaging and stimulating learning environment. Such activities play an important role in fostering early interest in science, technology, and engineering.
The implementation involved members of the Robotics Laboratory, the Laboratory for Electronic and Information Systems, the Laboratory for Media Technologies, and the Laboratory for Real-Time Systems, whose expertise and dedication enabled the successful execution of the event.
The event is part of the Institute of Informatics’ efforts to connect research activities with society and to promote interest in information sciences from an early stage of education.
