We are proud to announce that a team of students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FERI), study programme Informatics and Data Technologies – Gaja Gujt, Boban Boshevski, Adam Kac, and Tevž Starovasnik – together with Eva Ekart, a student of Music Pedagogy at the Faculty of Education (PEF), and under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boštjan Šumak and Assist. Prof. Dr. Maja Pušnik, achieved an outstanding second place at the 8th Global Competition on Design for Future Education (GCD4FE). 🌍
The prestigious competition was hosted by Beijing Normal University and co-organized by the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE).
The team impressed the international jury with their conceptual design of a mobile solution called Skill Match – an app that leverages artificial intelligence to foster intergenerational connections and enable the exchange of knowledge and life skills between younger and older users. Special emphasis was placed on accessibility for older adults.
In just 48 hours – with virtually no sleep – the team developed a comprehensive project concept, functional prototype, visual materials, and delivered several compelling presentations before advancing to the finals. 👏
We warmly congratulate the team for their exceptional achievement and for proudly representing the University of Maribor and Slovenia on the global stage!
